The second Leonardo day in the context of the Leonardo project was held at Hidria’s technology and material institute in Sp. Idrija. Together with our suppliers, we strengthened the relations and values which connect us; we gave awards to the best suppliers; and the Corporate Purchasing Director Irena Rimac Gaspari became Leonardo ambassador.

The Slovenian Chamber of Commerce awarded us again, for the second year in a row, with the golden award for the best innovation in Slovenia. The corporation received the prestigious prize, which has been awarded for 20 years now, for its innovative Aeternus system - a 2nd generation metal glow plug developed by Hidria AET.

At CWIEME, the world’s leading exhibition for innovative technologies and materials for electric motors held from 10 to 12 May in Berlin, Hidria was again, among the 750 exhibitors, one of the key creators of the global green mobility of the future. With our innovative solutions we once again impressed the visitors and signed quite a few important contracts. Hidria’s exhibition area was visited also by Dr Milan Brglez, President of the Slovenian National Assembly, and Marta Kos Marko, Slovenian Ambassador to Germany.

CLEPA, the European Association of Automotive Suppliers, in Brussels, Belgium, awarded Hidria Corporation the First Award for the Hidria Optymus Pressure Sensing diesel engine cold-start system with pressure sensorics. With this most innovative solution in Europe in the “Green Technologies” flagship category, followed by prominent Valeo on the second and Bosch on third place, next generation diesel engine fuel consumption and poisonous gas emissions will be reduced by up to 30 percent towards curent standard solutions after 2018.

In Milan in Italy, at one of the largest energetics fairs in the world – the MCE 2016 Mostra Cenvegno Expocomfort – Hidria signed new contracts totalling almost EUR 5 million to supply high-performance fans and electrical motors to be used already this year in heat pumps, industrial coolers, pumps and heaters of renowned brands, allowing for considerable savings on heating and cooling costs, and significantly contributing to environmental protection.

Geneva will see the beginning of the traditional 86th Geneva International Motor show - one of the five largest auto shows in the world. In the eleven days of the show, 200 major players from the automotive sphere from 30 countries will present their novelties and vehicles. Hidria will be present there indirectly, as nearly all leading automotive brands use at least one of our solutions in their vehicles.

At the event, which was held in the Blue Hall in Idrija and was attended by over 600 visitors, BMW Group Slovenia presented two electric vehicles, both BMW 1 Series Active E, to Hidria and the Jurij Vega Grammar School.

Today, the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce awarded the partnership of SiEVA development centre and Hidria a gold certificate for the best innovation of the year - diesel cold start system with a pressure sensor. We also received a silver certificate for the development of the Air Light production line.

In February, the Hidria Corporation signed new major sales contracts for over EUR 25 million with some of the biggest names from the motorcycle industry. Their products will be installed in upcoming premium-brand motorcycles set for launch in 2016 and later. They were developed entirely in the Hidria Technology Park in Koper, on the former “Tomos” premises, where they will also be manufactured.
