The Republic of Slovenia Award for Business Excellence Committee selected the finalists from among the twelve organisations that applied and were evaluated as suitable to compete for this year’s award. The Prime Minister Borut Pahor opened the new production of heat exchangers this afternoon in Hidria’s company Uniklima in Sarajevo. The new acquisition is very important in the struggle to maintain Hidria’s market share in Bosnia and Herzegovina and also a considerable competitive advantage in the production and marketing of heat exchangers of the Hidria trademark. Besides the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia and the Hidria’s management, four ministers of the Slovene government and their delegation, and Hidria’s employees and business partners from Bosnia and Herzegovina also attended the opening.

By this October, Hidria GIF with registered office in Freiburg, Germany, generated EUR 5 million from sales, which is 12% more than in the same period last year. The company Maimer and GIF Czech Republic were also successful, exceeding the last year's figures by 69% and 50%, respectively. All these three companies market ventilation ceilings for large kitchen systems. All employees from all three companies and the Director of Hidria GIF Volker Eckmann have contributed to this great performance, and managed to maintain and even improve their sales results in spite of the global economic crisis.

After last year’s victory in the Slovene competition for the best internal newsletters, Hidria scored another great placement. It won the 3rd place in the European competition FEIEA Grand Prix 2009 for the best products in the area of internal communications in the category of the best internal magazines, which is the highest place ever achieved by a Slovene company in this category.

Today, the meeting of businessmen from Albania and Slovenia was held at Brdo pri Kranju, together with the presidents of the Republic of Albania and the Republic of Slovenia Dr. Bamir Topi and Dr. Danilo Türk. At the meeting, the President of Hidria Management Board Iztok Seljak, MSc, and the Chancellor of the Polytechnic University of Tirana Prof. Dr. Jorgaq Kacani signed the Agreement on Business and Technical Co-operation between the Hidria Corporation and the Albanian Polytechnic University.
