In 2022, we will start building a new high-tech centre in Spodnja Idrija for the development and manufacture of key parts of electric motors for electric and electrified vehicles of the future; the centre will open in mid-2023. Together with the Prime Minister of Slovenia, Janez Janša, we laid the foundation stone of the project and thus announced our further successful development.
For 50 years now, our corporation has been successfully operating and developing in an increasingly dynamic global economic environment. Our breakthrough innovations are a significant contribution to the green mobility of the future. We are one of the world's key development suppliers of stators and rotors for electric motors for hybrid and electric vehicles; the sales of these vehicles have been growing steadily.
A part of Hidria's new high-tech digitised centre for the development and production of rotors and stators for state-of-the-art e-vehicles of the future will also be a tool design and manufacturing centre.
Based on our competencies, we have already signed numerous long-term contracts with the world's largest vehicle manufacturers; for this, we need new production capacities to manufacture key parts of electric motors for electric and hybrid vehicles of the future. Next year, we will start building a high-tech digitised centre in Spodnja Idrija for the development and production of rotors and stators for state-of-the-art e-vehicles of the future. A part of it will also be a tool design and manufacturing centre.
Hidria's centre will cover an area of the size of almost two football fields and employ 100 high-tech experts.
Covering an area the size of almost two football fields (15,000 m2), it will include modern premises with automated and robotic digitally supported technology based on the Industry 4.0 principle. The centre will employ 100 new high-tech employees with high added value that will significantly exceed 100,000 euros per employee. With the estimated value of EUR 40 million, this is the largest investment in the history of Hidria.
We will start production at the new site in mid-2023. This investment is the first of the projects aimed at establishing the green mobility innovation platform GREMO (GREen MObility).
It operates under the auspices of the Slovenian automotive supplier industry, led by ACS, the Automotive Cluster of Slovenia. In its context, the most important automotive companies in Slovenia, in partnership with the Slovenian government, are ensuring the transformation and further growth of the Slovenian automotive supplier industry within the framework of the Recovery and Resilience Plan.
