In February, the Hidria Corporation signed new major sales contracts for over EUR 25 million with some of the biggest names from the motorcycle industry. Their products will be installed in upcoming premium-brand motorcycles set for launch in 2016 and later. They were developed entirely in the Hidria Technology Park in Koper, on the former “Tomos” premises, where they will also be manufactured.

Hidria’s motorcycle solutions, especially the frames, are developed on the basis of the knowledge that the Corporation acquired from Tomos. Over the last ten years, the value of Hidria’s solutions for the most demanding steel and aluminium frames for motorcycles, handlebars, stands, and pedals has gained recognition from motorcycle industry giants, including for example BMW and Ducati. Last year, Hidria signed a multimillion contract with BMW on manufacturing aluminium frames for BMW’s new S 1000 XR motorcycle. The frame is the result of Hidria’s knowledge and will be made entirely of aluminium and welded and lacquered in the Technology Park in Koper. Only a few months later, in February, the quality of Hidria’s products was rewarded again by the Audi-owned Ducati. Hidria was entrusted with manufacturing some of the key components of Ducati’s new motorcycles. The value of these deals, including some other new contracts that were concluded at the beginning of this year, is as much as EUR 25 million.

With these new contracts for the 2016–2022 period, its conceptual development capabilities, high quality, and punctuality of deliveries, Hidria is joining the ranks of the leading manufacturers of complex frames and other key components for premium motorcycles in Europe.

The above success of the Hidria Technology Park in Koper is complemented by the intensive development of Hidria Alutec. At the Koper site, Hidria Alutec manufactures key steering system components for premium vehicles with a leading role in Europe in this segment together with the Hidria Technology Centre in Koper, which is becoming one of the most innovative centres for the development and production of industrial automation in this part of Europe.

Thanks to this, Hidria was able to conclude contracts for the 2017–2023 period of over EUR 200 million in the automotive segment alone in the last two months. A month ago, the Corporation announced its EUR 30 million contract with PSA Peugeot Citroën, and now the contracts with the premium motorcycle makers worth EUR 25 million. The Corporation has already signed new contracts for a further EUR 150 million, but these – for the time being - are still trade secrets.
