Hidria will supply Peugeot Citroen with diesel cold start glow plugs for the 2017–2022 period. Hidria glow plugs will be installed in the most numerous and therefore most important diesel engine, the DV5Rx. At the height of the project, in 2019, Hidria glow plugs will be in more than 1 million cars produced by the PSA Peugeot Citroen group. With this contract, the Hidria Corporation is strengthening its position among the global automotive leaders.

PSA Peugeot Citroen group is the second largest producer of diesel engines in the world. Currently, Hidria covers 40 per cent of all PSA needs. With this new 30 million euro contract, Hidria is becoming a key partner of PSA. The majority of diesel engines produced by Peugeot Citroen (80 per cent) will use Hidria glow plugs. They are dimensionally customized for the new PSA diesel engine and improved in the production stage. Hidria’s new glow plug will allow the more effective cold starting of diesel engines and will reduce combustion gases.

This contract is very important because it allows Hidria further growth. With this contract, PSA demonstrates its great respect and honour for Hidria’s past work, which has taken place between Hidria and PSA since 2006. Hidria has once again showed that is a trustworthy corporation with high quality products and competitive prices, which are very important in the automotive business.
