The concern for health and the environment is one of the important values. Our corporation is therefore pleased to join the European Mobility Week and encourage all colleagues to go to work – of course, if possible – on foot or by public transport.
The European Mobility Week under the auspices of the European Commission, which is taking place this week, has for 17 years encouraged local communities to act responsibly in transport and to care for the environment and health. This includes especially activities aimed at reducing environmental pollution from the use of motor vehicles and promoting the development of pedestrian and bicycle-friendly cities. A major problem in modern society is the lack of physical activity of the population, which is largely fuelled by the excessive use of cars.
This is why this year’s Mobility Week focuses on walking. Walking is the least spectacular way of moving, but it is also the most natural, healthy and relaxing. Our corporation is aware of the needs for protecting the health and the environment; therefore, we are happy to join the promotion of such mobility. We encourage employees to come to work on foot or by public transport, if any possible. This helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and ensures a cleaner air, better quality of living and health.
