We have 17 new leaders. They trained for one year at our Leadership Academy and gained important leadership skills and experience during this time. The participants received certificates and finished this interesting period in their professional career with the workshop The end is a new beginning.
At the Hidria’s Leadership Academy, participants have been meeting for over one year and learning about numerous topics that they need to know and master as leaders in the time in which we live, to enable an excellent leading and development of their colleagues. Through various projects and tasks, the young generation of leaders presented the advantages and chances they see in Hidria to the management of our corporation; they also thought deeply about the values that characterise us. In this training year, the average age of participants was 32 years. Some of them have already been promoted to leading positions during their training and are already transferring the acquired knowledge and skills into practice.
The first steps of Hidria’s Leadership Academy were made in 2000. Since then, over 70 participants acquired leadership skills. Quite many of them are today at leading positions at Hidria.
At ten educational meetings, we hosted external and internal lecturers. And with the last meeting entitled The end is a new beginning, the 2021/2022 generation officially concluded the Leadership academy and stepped on the path towards new career challenges. At the closing ceremony at Kendov dvorec in Spodnja Idrija, Hidria’s management awarded certificates to the participants along with the commemoration book – Grit by the American professor of psychology Angela Duckworth. In this book, the author provides a convincing description of a trait that each of us has, and which significantly contributes to an individual’s success – she calls it grit.
Dedicated work and good leadership should also accompany the new generation of young future leaders.
