National awards from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) were awarded today at the International Technology Transfer Conference - ITTC, organized by the Jožef Stefan Institute. For the first time in history, Hidria received the prestigious award for numerous activities in the field of international patent applications.
With this, Hidria joined a small exclusive group of Slovenian companies that have received the aforementioned award to date. Among them are: Krka, Elan, GEM Motors and the Development Center eNeM Novi Materials.
The award was accepted on behalf of Hidria by M.Sc. Peter Uršič, head of innovation at Hidria, who has been involved in the application of Hidria's most important patents for many years. Among them, a key family of international patent applications should be highlighted, which is related to the development of the Hidria Optymus PSG breakthrough spark plug with a pressure sensor.
The award from the World Intellectual Property Organization means recognition of the work and effort of many Hidria engineers who take care of international patent applications of Hidria's innovations in fierce international competition and in the face of demanding patent requirements, as well as the coordination work of the team of Hidria's patent office. The office with active participation in the preparation and writing of Hidria's international patents is managed by M.Sc. Peter Uršič, who inherited the position from her longtime coordinator of international patent applications, Gverino Ratoša.
Upon receiving the award, Hidria sincerely congratulates and thanks all the innovators who have and continue to invest their efforts in strengthening Hidria's rich collection of international patents. International patents significantly strengthen Hidria's market position in the developmentally extremely demanding and competitive areas of automotive and industrial technologies.
