The innovative technology Hidria Bond used to produce rotors and stators for electric drive motors that will be used by BMW and Daimler-Mercedes in their electric and hybrid vehicles made it possible for us to sign important contracts to ensure the successful development and strengthening of our Corporation. For this purpose, we opened new modern production premises in Jesenice and gave symbolic awards to thank our partners in the project.
With Hidria Bond we developed an innovative lamination bonding technology to produce stator and rotor packages for highly efficient electric drive motors in new hybrid and electric vehicles which due to the know-how and experience of our development engineers are becoming more affordable and even more efficient. This technology was developed in close cooperation with experts from the National Institute of Chemistry in Ljubljana and the company Jutronic. A specific feature of our new technology is the new innovative process enabling us to efficiently bond the laminations in a non-mechanical way during the production of the stator and the rotor in the stamping tool with very high stamping speeds.
This established a crucial competitive advantage and helps us to provide our clients with an advanced and more affordable solution to design and produce electric drive motors. Among others, BMW and Daimler Mercedes already recognised the advantages of our new technology. Both will start to use our stators and rotors for electric drive motors produced using the Hidria Bond method in their new hybrid and electric vehicles in 2021. Our agreements run all the way until 2030. Consequently, these cars will consume significantly less energy and reduce harmful emissions.
We celebrated this extraordinary achievement in Jesenice. In the company of the Minister of Education, Science and Sport Jernej Pikalo, the State Secretary, Ministry of Economic Development and Technology Aleš Cantarutti and the mayor of Jesenice Blaž Račič we opened our high-tech production premises for key parts of modern electrical drive motors. And we gave symbolic awards to our helpers in the Hidria Bond project, i.e. development engineers and external partners – the National Chemical Institute and the company Jutronic. With this solution and the contracts already signed or anticipated, our Corporation is strengthening its leading global role as co-creator of the green mobility of the future.
