In the next five years, Hidria will provide key parts of high-efficiency prestige diesel and petrol engines for premium and super-sports vehicles manufactured by Audi, Lamborghini and Porsche. With this agreement, Hidria additionally strengthens its position as one of the top global manufacturers of innovative solutions for modern future-oriented mobility.
Years of experience, competence, know-how and innovation demonstrated by Hidria’s employees once more convinced the world’s largest players in the automotive business. This time, Hidria’s top solutions were chosen by the prestigious manufacturers Audi, Lamborghini, and Porsche. In their vehicles they will use key aluminium parts of petrol and diesel engines developed by Hidria; this will make the cars lighter and more efficient, with better driving efficiency, better acceleration, and lower emissions.
Audi will use Hidria’s high-quality aluminium components of the new 3.0-litre engine V6 TDi in the new main driving units of its best-known models: A4, A5, A6, S6, S7, Q5, Q7 and Q8. Hidria’s key engine parts will be used also in the 1.8 and 2.0-litre petrol versions of Audi’s four-cylinder drive units labelled as TSI and TFSI and in Porsche’s new 8-cylinder petrol engine.
In this way, Hidria additionally strengthened its position among key global suppliers of premium drive unit parts and opened the door for many new, also prestigious projects. One of these is the cooperation with Audi and Lamborghini in the development of a drive unit for their super-sports vehicles, Audi R8 and Lamborghini Huracan. Here too Hidria will supply the key aluminium parts of the drive unit that allows both vehicles to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3.5 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 320 km/h.
Such cooperation in development is an important starting point for pilot projects of pre-development and development of drive units and future-oriented vehicles that will come into production in five years or more. In addition, they help Hidria to create new invaluable knowledge for mass contracts produced in large batches, and new investments for the development and production of new, premium products and solutions in future-oriented automotive and industrial technology.
